Trying to install run Plex Media player. VCRUNTIME140_1.dll not found

Server Version#: 1.19 I think, it is whatever the most recent version is as of 09/28/2020 fresh installed.
Player Version#: Unsure can’t get app to start what ever version the installer is. Installed from here: https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/?lang=#plex-app

After installing I get an error saying VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found (pic: https://imgur.com/5QcAJDf) Server works fine and I can watch videos in the chrome browser just fine from the server. For some reason the player wont launch. I have uninstalled Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015-2017 and reinstalled just the x86 version as some other forum posts suggested, but that didn’t work either. I also tried installing x64 just to make sure too, that did not help at all.

I guess the reason I am making a new post is because all the information I seem to find pertains to VCRUNTIME140.dll and I noticed mine has an _1 before the .dll I am wondering if there is something else I need to fix or if this is a known issue? I am using a fresh installation of Windows 10 and I have pushed every update Windows has shown me.

Edit: I forgot to mention this, but I of course have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plex player as well.

I believe VCRUNTIME140 (and I assume _1) is from VS 2019.

I think the correct VC Runtime Redistributable to have installed is the x86 one from here, including all of 2015, 2017, and 2019:

Edit: I just noticed how awesome that URL is.

Did you have a previous version of the Plex app installed, or is this the first time?

I’m a little surprised either way, I would expect the installer to detect the dependency. I wonder if it saw that the VC Redist package was installed, but not that there was a file missing from it.

I’m curious to hear if this fixes it.

This is what I was looking for thank you very much. I guess the other sources I found were just out dated.

Actually I did on my previous installation of Windows, but this is the first install attempt for the player on this fresh installation of Windows. (C:/ was completely formatted)
