Trying to move from Windows to Debian

Server Version#: 1.26.1.5798 (also updated to 1.26.2…)
Player Version#: n/a

I installed Plex-Server on Debian 11.3 and want to migrate media and meta date to the linux server.

After I installed it I called up the IP and wanted to initialize the server. I logon via my mail address with 2FA to my account (Plex Pass) I got presented the 4 user for my Windows Server Plex instance ('ve selected mine, being the admin) but can’t run thru the setup of the server I just installed on Debian. I got the media presented I have on my Windows server but have nothing to manage the new plex instance.

when I call IP:port/web/index.html#!/setup/ …

I got that
image

Any idea what goes wrong here?

could that be that setup of a plex server only works if the client from where I connect from is in the same subnet?

You must be ( one of the following ):

  1. On the same RFC-1918 subnet, accessing the host by IP address (no FQDN).
    -or-
  2. SSH tunnel into the host and accessing PMS which resolves to 127.0.0.1
