Trying to share movie library with friends

Can someone please help.

Some of my friends are bored out of their minds being locked indoors, so I said I would share my video library with them. So I went into my Plex server on my home PC, and added them under ‘users & sharing’.

They are new to Plex, but they got the invite, created a (free) account and can see my server (I know this as they told my what I named my server). But when they try and browse my media by clicking more on their home screen of their app, they see my server but next to it says “off line” even though I’m not.

We are both using the latest version of Plex.

I don’t have a static IP, but I figure Plex sharing doesn’t need this.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Can you access your own server, when you are outside your home network?

I have the same issue and my server is available outside of my network (remotely). However, when I share my library with friends, they receive the invitation but when they try to access the server it shows “No content shared” and also shows that the server is Offline.

I am having this same issue with one other nuance. Every time the friend of mine tries to access my server, and it fails, I go back to my server and it shows no libraries shared with him. So, I re-share the library, he tries again to access, sees no content, and the library share once again disappears on my server. Remote access is enabled.
