I really dislike that now when a movie finishes it displays a short list of “Related Movies” instead of going back to my full movie library list. Is there a way to turn this “feature” off?
Nope. It is a feature that Plex believes everyone likes and must have. They call it “Post Play” and it appears on most every client with no ability to turn it off.
I guess we should be thankful the Plex has not, as least yet, forced the automatic playing of the next episode down our throats.
Plex calls it “Post Play” but for me it is more like “Pi$$ on you Play.” This is one of the areas where Plex thinks their users are too stupid to handle choice so Plex does us the favor of removing choice from our environment.
Plex is still the best media organization system for home media in general use but it is not the most flexible system if one wants to not be part of the sheeple and view/present their media in a truly personalized and unique manner.
Plex has made it clear that their vision is the only vision they will support and we have to make a choice if we are willing to conform or not and, for now, I have decided to conform and adapt to the Plexiverse rather than fighting it. At least it is only one touch of the “back” key to get out of the Plex “Post Play” intrusion.
… and the crowd says: Amen.
Damn, I was hoping that wasn’t going to be the answer…
Looks like I’ll have to look more into queues and playlists to see if I can use those to avoid it where I can.

While that is a possible solution it does seem rather drastic in the it is a good deal of effort to implement while one press of the “back” key, in every client where I have checked takes you out of “Post Play” and back to the movie list where you started playback.
I do NOT like the Post Play screen but I would not bother with playlists just to avoid it. Using the back key is much easier than dealing with playlists.
It seems a bit like the “Throwing out the baby with the bath water” saying. Personally I like to keep the baby (Plex) as long as it is reasonably easy to use.
I guess I was really thinking about queues more than playlists. I already have playlists set up for “collections” of movies (all the Star Wars , James Bond, Alien, etc. movies) that I occasionally will just start and let run through.
I haven’t used queues before, but since I’m usually using either my iPad or phone at the time (which is how it gets through the credits to the end of the movie without me dealing with it - paying more attention to the device than the movie), using one of those to look for the next movie and dump it into the queue so that it automatically plays next isn’t that much of a bother. It’d just be a matter of getting used to a different process.
