TV CEC causing pi to crash on standby

Got the pi model b (old pi - not pi 2) working on Rasplex fine. The way I want it to work is to be controlled by the TV controller and that is working well.  The problem is that every time I hit standby on the TV, the Pi ceases to function. The lights on top flash, but I can't SSH into it. The only way to get it up and running is to unplug the PSU and let it reboot. Obviously I can't use this as a media player like that.

I have read some threads here and checked the CEC settings on the Pi. Have told it not to stop anything on standby. The TV CEC option is on or off so nothing of use there. Is there any way of stopping the hdmi port on the pi being turned off?

Thanks

You need to change the CEC settings in Rasplex, there are several, set those you want and unset those you don't.
