TV-DB Tagging issue

Was not sure where to put this so placed it in general discussion.
I use thetvdb.com as my main source to add information to TV shows, however when i add any specials (Dr Who) for some reason they are wrong on plex.
Recently the 3 new releases all shows as different specials even though the tagging on the TVDB web site shows them as S00E162/3/4. Yet when i use this plex shows them as season 1 prom and similar.
Has anyone else had this and is there a way to fix this so i dont have to amend them all manually.

Are you using the Plex TV Series agent and have you set the episode order for your library (or just that show) to TheTVDb?

See:

  • from the library context menu: … > Manage Library > Edit… → Advanced > Agent and Episode Order
  • from the show entry: :pencil2: > Advanced > Episode Order

Thank you for the reply. I dont have this option. Im using a windows device and the plex server is on my TNAS.

I can however advise that on my plex server i have the image attached.

This is set as you can see to theTVDB as default.

Look into the properties of your library.

At the show level, click the pencil icon :pencil2: to edit the show. The right name is “Doctor Who (2005)”

Choose “Advanced” → “Episode ordering”: The TVDB (Aired)
