TV EPG show metadata and mismatching of series info error

There is a mismatch error in the old series to new series on Will & Grace and Hawaii five-O
Currently set to record tonight is Will & Grace S1-E1 - 11 years later on cbs at 8PM MTN however if you check imdb for the same info it shows under season 9 EP1 airing tonight. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0157246/episodes
But the original Series 1 EP 1 Pilot released Sept 21 1998.
had to remove the existing files from the season 1 airings in 1998 to get to record the new airings.

same with hawaii five-o 2010 currently set to record S8-E1 A’ole e 'olelo mai ana ke ahi ua ana ia on cbs at 8PM MTN


but the art work on the recording shows the show from the 1968 series

and if you look at the series info set to record it now has both the new and the old mixed together for recordings.

ok so i submitted it there but then found this on grace notes website.
In the XML, look for the “identifier” attribute on the first line. It will be either tv.plex.providers.epg.onconnect or tv.plex.providers.epg.eyeq.
but in the xml on the file in plex it shows

When you click program guide, look at the address field on the browser and you will see which epg provider.

is whats under the program guide as per pic attached its mixing the 1998 seasons with the 2017seasons. why doesnt plex see the year difference for the meta data and split it that way? same thing happens on hawaii five- o. i have the folders split by year as well in the media drive but yet it still thinks there one in the same and puts them in the same place.
