TV Episodes Duplicate Bugs

Plex server doesn’t fix duplicate TV episodes in two instance.

Anime Library

Outlaw star and Angle Link. Two different HDD, JBOD configuration. Window 10 Pro. Plex server is uptodate.

I accidentally name Angel Link as Outlaw star.

P:\Anime TV Shows\Outlaw Star\Season 1
Q:\Anime TV Shows\Outlaw Star\Season 1

I changed Q: to Angel Link.

Q:\Anime TV Shows\Angel Link\Season 1

Rescan Anime TV Shows. Nothing change. Everything the same in Plex. Rescan it again nothing changes. Still show as duplicates. Angel Link doesn’t show up as a TV show.

The fix was move Angel Link to Q:\ scan it to get rid of the duplicate. Than move Angel Link to Q:\Anime TV Shows\ scan it and angel link is on anime tv shows library.

Second Instance JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Season 0 to Season 6 changed to Season 0 to Season 5. I combined season 2 and 3 to season 2 as the correct order. Season 4 became season 3. Season 6 became season 5.

P:\Anime TV Shows\ JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure\Season 2
P:\Anime TV Shows\ JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure\Season 3

To

P:\Anime TV Shows\ JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure\Season 2

Scan anime TV shows and nothing change. Scan it again and nothing change. The fix was the same. Move jojo out of anime Tv show dir. Scan it. Put jojo back to anime tv show dir. Scan anime tv show library.

If Plex had already matched your files to a certain show/episode, it’ll remember that even if you rename the file. This can actually be quite helpful to avoid your files getting re-matched every time you do some minor adjustments.

In such an example you need to make Plex forget it knows the file. This can be done by using the procedure known as Plex Dance – you kind of did some of the crucial steps when you moved the “Angel Link” folder outside the library folder and re-scanned the library before returning it.
