TV Library Smart Collections fail to load correctly

oh and look at that, another beta release dropped with no fix for Smart Collections.

I think that brings the release count up to 327 versions released and still no fix /s

I see there’s a new (useless) blog https://gist.plex.tv/

maybe they can do a writeup on why plex is so secretive with when fixes will happen /s

@hthighway I can appreciate frustration around a feature that’s bugged, but the excessive and passive aggressive posting is likely detrimental to getting a response or garnering good will to make this a priority.

I don’t think it really effects their work flow one way or the other. But thank you for the input

Also, so you’re of the opinion Plex is going to leave this feature broken for a longer period of time, on purpose, because of the posts in this thread ?

Squeaky Wheels in need of lubrication either get some - or remain squeaky.

Plex User’s ONLY option is to be squeaky, in the hope somebody gets tired of hearing it.

So far - we have squeaks and crickets.
Our options remain unchanged.

You’re not wrong.

I’m only suggesting there are variations of “squeaky” and some can be more effective than others.

In my experience, the only thing that gets Plex to move on an issue, if it’s not something that’s currently on their to do list: noise from the user base

There needs to be enough of an uproar of some sort by the userbase, otherwise they will get to it based on their own timeline

and the other funny/sad part about this -

If some one from plex eventually posts in this thread again because it’s gone off the rails, it will be to address one of the factually inaccurate (according to them) posts in here.

But in no way will there be an substantial info provided relating to the actual problem with Smart Collections

looks around a bit, and yep -

Smart Collections are still broken

Noticed there was a new update for my Plex container, came here to see if they fixed the bug where users can’t see Smart Collections
 feelsbadman.png

Please fix it Plex, I went and rebuilt 90% of my collections as Smart Collections and now my users can’t see jack or ■■■■. Roadmaps are great and everything, but fixing broken things should be top priority, saying this as a Life Pass hodler.

I see at least 2 other threads reporting on this or similar Smart Collection problems

Lets just hope the uproar continues to build :lion:

Different day same Story -
Another few PMS versions drop and still no sign of them fixing the Broken Smart Collections

Can confirm, updated Plex container last night and still no fix for broken ass Smart Collections. Super annoying explaining to my users why all the collections appear empty
Hard to convince anyone to buy premium plex service when such a fundamental thing as collections remain broken for so long.

Didn’t realise Plex devs were aware of this bug way back in April. Here we are in June and all ym collections are still showing up as dead empty for my users. I spent days nuking my static collections I made manually (genre based, director based, stand up comedians, so many collections
) and rebuilding them as Smart Collections, so I woudln’t have to manually edit them when new movies are added to the library. I got covers for them all, looking fantastic but now I just get messages all day long from my users asking why the collections are all dead empty. No response from the dev teaam for MONTHS!? Sure am glad I paid for a Lifetime Pass; wouldn’t have done so if I knew the deve team would be breaking things and ignoring us like this. Please fix the bugs and your communication issues kthxbai

My method of squeaky, working it’s magic -

maybe

Made Smart Collections 2 months ago not realizing they weren’t working this whole time. Just chiming in to +1 this issue and keep the heat (or lack there of) on the Devs

in the old days the squeaky wheels got whatever was handy - and as a result the whole wagon train smelled like bacon
150 years later, the UPS truck smells like French Fries.

Things change, but stay the same.

I
 don’t understand.

Wheels and grease - gotcha.
USPS trucks and freedom fries? I’m lost.

+1

I migrated collections to smart collections only to find out they’re broken for other users. It’s been more than a month. I’m just wondering why it’s taking so long to fix a simple SQL error. Frankly, it’s unacceptable.
