TV Match issue

I have only seen this on a couple of TV shows that I downloaded and put in Plex but it is annoying as hell. For example, The Librarians has two series apparently named that. I am putting the current version of it on my Plex server. It matched the original series which is fine. I change the match and we are good until I upload a new episode and for some reason it reverts everything back to the original other series with that title. It did this with Bordertown and another one that escapes me. Why does this keep happening? To me this is a bug and should be fixed.

First, are you following the Plex naming rules for TV shows?

The official TVDB names are “The Librarians” and 'The Librarians (2014)". This is the naming standard PMS uses for television series.
This is also the case for 'The Flash" and “The Flash (2014)”

How do you have your series named and structured?
Which version of the series do you have?

I just have it as The Librarians as that is the title. I have the 2014 version. My complaint is that once I set the match, it shouldn’t go back and change it just because I add a new episode.

You need to name it as follows

The Librarians (2014)
Season 01
The Librarians (2014) - S01EXX - XX.mkv

If you have both, depending on the series popularity (which I cannot explain why), putting the year of the older series in its name, aids greatly with proper match automatically.

Also, it it important to remember, when renaming in-situ, PMS might/can/tends to remain ‘locked on’ to the original name. It is always best to move away from PMS (another location), update library, empty trash, clean buffers, rename in other location, then move back and obtain a fresh match.

Names correctly, manual matching is not needed, as in:

tv/The Flash:
Season 01/

tv/The Flash (2014):
Season 01/  Season 02/  Season 03/
