I have 2 TV shows uploaded to my Plex Library released on Dec 4th. Plex Media Library is not getting that information in metadata. I can see TV Show details in TVDB and IMDB. BUt plex is not showing

Hi, the short answer is that the shows are too new and the metadata has not been pulled into the Plex databases yet. It will most likely match sometime in the coming week. I made a test folder, and like you, it did not match. I also run jellyfin in tandem on my server and it did match there, so matching is possible.
I know it is frustrating, but you’ll just have to be patient and wait a bit. It’s just habit for me now, but I always wait a week before dropping newer shows/movies onto my server.
I just did a “refresh metadata” on my test folder and it matched to show in the TVDB link you posted. Give it a try.
Do you know what your TV metadata agent is? Mine is the default and thus TMDB. Not sure if it is a naming issue or not since your system is at least recognizing episodes. My test setup is very basic. Folder name is “Kuttram Purindhavan (2025)” and I just have a test file called s01e01.mp4 under that folder. Here is what I’m seeing since I did the metadata update.
Mine is set to Plex Series. Guess i need to change to TVDB. ALso what about scanner Plex TV Scanner or Plex series Scanner
Those look correct or at least the same as mine. Only difference is my default episode ordering is The Movie Database even tho it is not shown on my screen shot.
Guess its taking 3,4 days to get updated. Anyways thanks for helping and checking.
Could be. I think I have seen in a couple other threads that the Plex metadata is distributed via Cloudflare. Possibly that I am seeing the newer data and your server is still seeing some older cached data. Do another metadata refresh in a day or so and see if things are better.
I don’t think the episode ordering will matter since it looks like TVDB & TMDB look to have the same episode information.
