Server Version#: 1.40.2.8395
Some TV shows and Movies are now showing up on collections with the red trash symbol but will still play on Plex since they are still there, maybe a bug on this server version.

Use Get Info in the contextual menu for a movie or episode that show this and see if there is more than one path to file and possibly it thinks one of them is unavailable.
I concur with BigWheel above. This happens to me relatively often with… programs that replace media files and sometimes the file names change slightly. I have Empty Trash Automatically disabled in the settings in case my drives have an issue during scheduled scan time.
Always fixes itself when I empty trash manually every few days.
Mine too, happening on DVR recordings for me - any time something is recorded it stores two copies of it in the database, one with the trash can icon.
I have manual trash cleaning due to unplugged media drives that I don’t want Plex deciding to erase the library from the database.
Only started happening with 1.40.3.8502 for me.
@meherenow is is possible to get your server logs after something finishes recording and that happens.
Mine was fixed following the @cblevins321 advice, empty trashed manually and my issue is gone.
Sorry @BigWheel , just seeing your reply now - I upgraded to the latest beta server, 1.40.3.8530 and that fixed it - no more duplicates and the metadata is correct now.
There’s a niggle outstanding for me, I wonder if you could have a look, it’s the lack of episode information in the Home tab on the Classic skin, works on each library but no info on the main home tab…
@meherenow I’ve already replied in that thread. I’ve already made a report about that but I don’t have any ETA
