TV programs cut off at end

When watching a show on Plex.tv (using Firefox) it cuts off the last few minutes. It bounces back to the channel list grid and won’t connect again to the show. Also, all shows overrun the end time shown on the channel grid, so there seems to be a sync issue here. Any thoughts on what can be done to fix this? Thanks.

I made a similar post about the exact same problem here:

Unfortunately after about 3 weeks someone has yet to comment on it or even acknowledge it. This is very disappointing, in both the situation which has gotten worse over the 3 weeks it’s been happening, and in that nothing is or has been done about it to the point of even asking any follow-up questions about the problem or even post a simple acknowledgement that it’s happening.

They are re-packaging or re-transmitting streaming video “channels” from other sources, and it’s possible the problem is coming from wherever the feed originates, but they need to fix it if it’s Plex’s problem, or get it fixed from whoever they get the feed from otherwise. Either way, it used to work fine, then all of a sudden about 3 weeks ago it went to crap, and it’s been that way, perhaps worse, in the 3 weeks or so it’s been happening.

In fact, watching one of the feeds “Comedy Dynamics”, RIGHT NOW JUST CRASHED. Most annoying. Trying to watch anything in the background is impossible because of having to restart the player every half hour or so. This makes the video service almost unusable :frowning:

Thanks. In my case the crashes aren’t random, they always occur right at the end of the program, the last few minutes. I figure it has something to do with the time overrun problem described, but I haven’t found any way to resync the Plex clock.

Mine aren’t totally random either. Occasionally it will die in the middle of a program, but it almost always occurs at or very near the end of a show or on the top and bottom of the hour (commercial time). I am thoroughly convinced it is something embedded in the source stream that somehow deliberately terminates the player.

I think you may be onto something about timing, because when I restart the player after it crashes it frequently repeats exactly the same snippet of the same program a few seconds later, like it got to the break too soon, then it has to stop and kind of wait until things catch up. That sounds like a reasonable explanation for why it’s happening, it’s like the player FPS is too fast and it’s running out of material to stream/display.

This seems to have been fixed over the last couple of days!! Does it seem to you like this problem has gone away or has gotten quite a bit better? It has for me! Thanks to whoever is responsible!

Hi. Not in my case. I have found that by syncing my PC clock more closely to Plex time, the broadcast won’t cut off so early. So for some reason Plex checks my PC clock, instead of just broadcasting regardless.
