I am experiencing two issues with the Plex for Xbox One app. For one of the issues, I know at least one other person in the forums is experiencing it. The other I'm not sure if it has been reported or not, but I am experiencing it.
ISSUE 1:
I am having an issue with the TV Show section not properly showing content. I posted this in another section, but will repost the issue here as well:
For those who are not experiencing the problem, the issue happens when you go to your TV show section and either click on any Show from all BUT ONE section. In the effected sections (Browse All, for example), when you click on a show, down at the bottom where it should be showing you the seasons, it shows what appears to be 3 small square "G" icons (I haven't looked hard enough to see if it's a G or just small squares, but it shows 3 of them). None of the remaining content loads. If you click on the "Play" button to play the entire show (starting from the first season, episode 1, etc), you get a black screen that never times out. You can exit the app, etc., but when you go back to the app, it continues to show a black screen. The only way to get the app to reset is to perform a reboot of the XBO (that is, hold down the power button until it shuts off completely and then power it back up). The interesting thing is that after rebooting my XBO and my Plex server several times trying to figure out what was going on, it actually randomly started working! It worked as expected, UNTIL, I fixed a lot of my TV show tags (I noticed that several of my older shows were not showing the full episode counts, a fault of my older MP4 tagging program not properly tagging the videos). When I did that, those shows immediately showed up in my other plex apps properly... but on my XBO, when I went back to the TV show section, it again started doing the exact same issue with the 3 small "G" icons.
I have found that if I go to "Start Playing" section within the TV Show portion, I can actually click on a show and it shows all of the seasons and content. But, the main "Browse All" and other locations seem to not consistently show the content. I have a fairly large TV Show collection with over 2000 episodes across about 40 different shows. So I'm not sure if that is causing the issue or not. The movie section appears to be fine.
ISSUE 2:
I have noticed that when I browse through sections, there appears to be ghosting happening. I can see where the app is attempting to draw the next section and, then, a few seconds later, the content for that portion of the screen shows up. It has the appearance of what would be burn in, but it isn't. Interestingly, though, I also see this happen on another TV with the Roku app as well so I'm not sure if it is design UI across other Plex apps or not. But, the issue is very noticeable on my big screen where my XBO is connected.
