Plex cutting off before the end of an episode another thread has a response!
Same boat here. Super annoying, compounded by the apparent fact that this has been an ongoing issue for quite a while now.
Plex staff please provide an update on this issue!
Iāve been having this problem also. I thought it was related to subtitles, but reproduced it without any subtitles. It appears that pausing and/or skipping forward or backward once the show has started causes it to quit early.
Also still having this issue with the last two movies Iāve watched. Roku TV. Crazy is been going on for months /years.
Happening to my Roku as well. Figured i would just report that this is still an issue.
This issue stopped for a few versions but is back again. Roku Premier+. Generally cuts off a few minutes too early. Iāve convinced myself that it happens more when I do the intro skip.
Same thing happening here. Quite annoying as well because Plex marks it watched so I have to go back and FF all the way to the end to finish the episode. Iām using a Roku Ultra over local network. If it matters, I do not use the āskip introā feature.

Apologies if this is repeating anything that anyone has already said before, but itās already a long chain. I have started experiencing this same issue just recently, when watching a specific series using the Plex TV App on a 2018 Samsung TV (Tizen). 2-3 minutes before the end of an episode it start buffering and then result in an error which in most cases forces me to do a hard reset of the Plex TV app to get back into it. Quite annoying as in most cases you can miss quite important stuff in the last few minutes of an episode.
I just did some test myself and noticed that we i disable āearly accessā in the app on my Samsung TV it reverts back to an earlier version of the app which doesnāt seem to have this issue at all. Tried it a few time with an episode on which i knew exactly when it was going to cut out.
Is it a new āfeatureā that was added in the Early access versions that is causing this issue?
