Plex TV Scanner (NEW) - Metadata pulled in languages other than English

Server Version#: 1.22.0.4136
Player Version#: 4.52.2

Trying out the new Plex TV Series scanner and I am finding a lot of issues when I’m scanning my files. It likes to default to the Japanese title for the series name, and the summary is a crap shot; I’ve gotten English, Spanish, and Japanese, even with the library language set to English (USA).

Also, still not pulling all the data from TVDB. Example - season one of Saint Seiya pulls the summary data for episodes 1-4, and 7. Nothing else. This goes for other series in my library as well.

Can you give me some examples of shows with the wrong langauges?

Are you using the TVDB ordering?

That I am.!

It seems this is an issue others are seeing, per the main thread. Is that the better place for raising a ticket?

No this is the right place.

I see that specific episode doesn’t have an English summary and we’re picking a summary from a different language. We shouldn’t be doing this so I’ll follow up on it.

Has there been any update regarding this? I just updated to the new server version and the issue is still happening.

This should be resolved, I checked with the previous example you provided and it now doesn’t provide the wrong language.

Have you refreshed the metadata?

If you see this after refreshing the metadata please provide some exact examples so we can investigate.

Chrono Crusade {thetvdb-73993 } has German episode summaries on TheTVDB, but I still get english ones. after refreshing.
Episode order is set to TheTVDB.

This show does not have german episode summaries on TheMovieDB.

We don’t have any episode translations for TVDB currently. It’s currently being worked on.

The original issue was random translations being shown for some shows.

It is no longer showing any summary for that episode, so that’s better than before. Still having issues with this series in general regarding the metadata but that’s another story. Thank you for the follow-up.
