[Screenshot_20230209_081442] This is the bandwidth that is used when a new (affected) episode starts. It goes down to practically nothing after the episode is running for a bit.

This is exactly what I see, it looks like the server sends way too much for the shield to deal with. Can you check the usage on a “working” playback? Also, ours often seems to fall back to direct stream during this issue, is that the case for you?

I’ve got the same issue both with and without transcoding, on a Shield and also on a Chromecast with Google TV. It’s always the second episode that plays, it happens about a minute in, and the app itself crashes or playback crashes.

It’s not crashing for me it’s just not playing the file properly
