Hello!
From my past experience, the only way I was able to make TV shows appear in Plex was to format them in iTunes first them move them to the server, but now I got a big season that is in mkv format which iTunes doesn’t support. I put this in the server and Plex is not recognizing the season. I did put the correct names for each episode from http://thetvdb.com/ and it still won’t show up. Can anyone help me with a fix?
I’ve never had any issue with plex not picking up tv shows in any format. I wonder if there’s a setting you don’t have on in PMS to scan the folders?

Using the episode titles from TheTVDB won’t help you.
You must use the Plex way of naming the files and putting them into subfolders.
As shown here:
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200220687-Naming-Series-Season-Based-TV-Shows
If you install Filebot it will do this for you with all files for one show. But you must tell it to use the Plex naming.
For tv shows you need to make sure the episode and seasons are labeled correctly.
I had 117 How It’s Made that I recorded with MythTV and it only came back with a description so I have to cut and paste into thetvdb to find my info
So now I have a buch a shows labeled like
/TVshows/How It’s Made/How It’s Made - 7x04.mpg
Plex fills in the rest after the library is updated
I typically have shows in a folder such as /show name/season #/show s01e01, works fine.
