The metadata for three shows (Simpsons, Spongebob, and Pokemon) will not populate. I’ve tried the plex dance multiple times, and I’ve cleared the cache. I consistently get the messages “No media for season X episode X - skipping population of episode data” and “Season Extra XML is empty - therefore, no episode XML” in the tvdb logs but I’m not sure how to fix those.
I’ve also tried downloading all assets locally using tiny media manager and enabling local media assets in the tvdb agent list but it won’t pull that info either. Any ideas?
I have a workaround. I installed the XMBCnfoTVImporter agent and did the plex dance one more time. This agent used the local nfo files and filled in all data. Not ideal but at least I don’t have empty episode names and summaries now.
I haven’t tried this since I deleted the http cookies but I had limited success if I added only one file (S01E01 for example) and then let it find the metadata for that, and add one season at a time. Unfortunately every time it would only find a couple seasons and then stop.
I do have some info at the end of my filenames such as “SpongeBob SquarePants - S10E56 - Mimic Madness - 1080p WEB-DL” or “SpongeBob SquarePants - S10E01 - Extreme Spots - 720p” would that have anything to do with it? Thanks for your help.
Like this it wouldn’t:
SpongeBob SquarePants - S10E56 - Mimic Madness [1080p WEB-DL]
Like you have it might.
(Plex ignores stuff in [Brackets] - to be on the safe side)
Well shoot maybe that’s my downfall this whole time. I renamed the files without that info and it’s currently processes the data. I’ll let it sit overnight and see what happens.
Noah (RedNoah) has written a wonderful piece of software to prevent these problems from ever happening. It’s called FileBot. It’s worth many times the price he’s asking for it and is a defacto requisite when curating your own media.
He changed his forum moniker to @filebot - if you can believe it.
The first part of the filename was so nice I wanted to believe FB had done it, but FB can do things like that and put those things in a bracket almost instantly.
When your file names are absolutely, positively perfect - any problems you may be having isn’t that, at least - that’s my motto.
Fiddling with filenames while Plex is watching is never a good idea.
Make sure the file names are fixed before you complete The Dance and write that new bundle you want everything perfect in. Dance the whole show, not just a few episodes.
I do have filebot, I renamed the entire series using the {plex} option. I even created a new library just for Spongebob to make sure it wasn’t a bundle issue and it won’t pull the data. I see this when it’s working through the episodes.
