TvOS - Automatic Login

Updated to latest beta. I can not for the life of me find the automatic login option. Where did it go or is it gone?

Settings have been moved to the very bottom of the navigation bar on the left.
There, automatic login is still the very first option.

Not for me. Starts off with Top Shelf. Top shelf used to require automatic login, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Beta 7.2 (15875)

Do you have multiple users within your Plex Home?
Could you share what version of Apple TV you are using (and what version of tvOS)?

Yes. 7 users.

I just double-checked… you need to be logged in as the account owner (kind of “to allow” your managed home users to not require a PIN).

Edit: fixed generic reference from “all” home users to “managed users” only!

Thought that might be a possible directive. However, the automatic login does not appear for the account holder as well. I checked that the options were the same in owner vs user before reaching out for help.

Additional thoughts?

Just to make sure I got this correct:

  • you’re signed in to Plex on your Apple TV with your Plex account
  • you switched to your admin role (switched to the admin account)
  • still there’s no option to set Automatically sign-in in the Plex client settings

Could you please provide the logs of your Apple TV client?

Ok. So I went to send the logs and it is now showing in the settings. I believe the new server version is the blame.

My kids went to watch a movie and I got a transcoded error and it exited without attempting to play. I took the “bad” movie and remuxed. No dice.

I then re-ripped it, no dice. Finally I downgraded server versions and the file plays fine. This seems to be attributed to a server regression.

Do you still want the logs? Note I was on the latest public/ beta build as they appear to be currently aligned.

Edit: I also wanted to note that then entire time I was troubleshooting the movie, Plex would not play it, but windows media player would.

I have since reupgraded to the latest version and the symptoms do not seem to be there. I had issues with a few files and the same transcoded error, so I upgraded so we could troubleshoot the latest version. If I have additional issues, should I open a new thread?
