I have two apple tv : one tvOS 15.6 (4k 1st gen) and the other on tvOS 16 beta 1 (4k 2nd gen) and an iphone 13 pro (iOS 16 beta 1).
I have multiple flavor of the plex app on these devices (beta 8.5 and stable 8.4), but i see the same issue on all of them.
On multiple movie i have added a 4k version along with the 1080p version i already had, so i now have two version of this movie. Plex by default will play the 4k version and it will play fine but if i go into the settings - > “play versiion…” and select the 1080p version, the app will crash instantly on all the devices mentioned above. I precise that before adding the 4k version, the 1080p version was playing without any issues. Regarding the server, it’s a plex docker container with an nvidia p400 for transcoding.
I have reported the crash on my iPhone when it happens and the apple tv is set to report all crashes. It might be a configuration issues on my side… but both version play fine on android and the mac plex app and browser.
