Tuner Make/Model: 2-each HD Homerun Quatro
I have 2 antennas pointed 2 different directions (S and E). They each pick up different channels but after doing a channel scan on each tuner the EPG only shows the channels from one tuner so I don’t get any of the channels off my second tuner.
What I currently am doing is running 2 servers with one tuner assigned to each server. Both servers record to the same directories so I can see everything recorded from both servers. Also I am running the HD Homerun software. It aggregates the channels from both tuners into the same EPG (I see all mchannels in one spot) and I can record to the same directory as PLEX. I am not sure why HDHome run is able to aggregate and Plex does not aggregate the channels from both tuners. Does someone have a better way to accomplish what I am trying to do. What I am doing works but is an awkward solution.
I also have 2 antennas and 2 HDHomeRun tuners.
One tuner/antenna is set to receive only 1 VHF station.
The other tuner/antenna receives all the other stations broadcasting
on UHF frequencies. I only have 1 computer running PMS and I set that
computer up to use the 2 different tuners as described (one tuner
receives only 1 channel, the other tuner receives all the other channels
(not including the VHF one)). It works working fine for me this way.
It’s not like I had any other choice…
I don’t know if this is a better way, but I’m reporting it works fine for me.
I would suggest you try moving both tuners to the same computer running
PMS and see if that fixes the issues you have. If you do that and you like
the results, you probably want to remember the delete the DVR on the
PC that no longer requires it.
That is how I started but when I scan the channels on the first tuner (facing South) it does not see the channels from the second tuner and therefore the EPG doesn’t show the channels from tuner 2 that faces East. I don’t know why Plex does not combine channels from all tuners like other software.
Tks for your input.
I have both my tuners (set to unique channels, no overlap) set up
on one PC running PMS. When I update the listings (overnight
job, but occasionally I do it manually in real time), Plex pulls in
the listings for all channels on both tuners.
I suggest again you go back to putting both tuners on only one of
your machines, set the tuners up so there are no overlapping
channels’ Remove the Live TV& DVR from the other machine.
Manually update the EPG on the machine with the tuners.
Then report any problems you have.
It make sense to me that Plex is having problems with your current
setup.
Since you didn’t explicitly say so, I’m reminding you to make sure you’ve
deleted the DVR from the machine that no longer has a tuner, so that PMS
does not try to automatically update the EPG from that machine during
it’s nightly butler duties.
I have 2 Antennas and 3 HDHomerun devices which gives me 8 tuners. I get 42 channels out of 2 markets (Syracuse and Rochester, NY). I can either select Syracuse or Rochester for EPG, but not both so all the Rochester channels are not visible to map to a channel guide.
This works in the HDHOMERUN native app fine. What is Plex limited to just one EPG per tuner? Do they not understand that you can pick up from multiple markets on the same tuner?
