After installing Nvidia Shield Pro, I attempted to access Plex Server on my PC and it threw errors. I reinstalled Plex Server for Windows on my PC and it only accesses the Shield Plex server, not the PC install. How do I force Plex to find the PC server?

At the same time, we have a similar security problem that was posted in June (expired and closed now, so we can’t find the solution) where someone else is attempting to login.

“Security Alert

Another device is attempting to sign in using your Plex account. You should only continue if you know this device and intend to grant it access.

This does not correspond to my IP address.

In order to complete the setup you need to open your Plex Media Server through its local IP.

  • If you’re on the same machine… open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web in your browser – alternatively you can click “Open Plex…” from the context menu of the PMS icon in your system tray.
  • If you’re on a different machine inside your home network, use http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web instead. This will bring up a wizard/dialog where you can name your server and link it to your Plex account (as well as creating your first libraries).

Once you “claimed” your server (=linked it to your Plex Media Account), you’ll also be able to access it from other Plex apps or via http://app.plex.tv/desktop.
