I am trying to view videos on my IPad 3 (model MD329LL/A) and I arbitrarily keep getting the “Uh-Oh! Something went wrong playing your media. Please try again.” message a minute or two into video playback or sometimes prior to playback even starting. This error does not appear to occur when I am watching the video on live streaming on a different device. I have confirmed that I have the latest IOS running as well as the latest version of Plex. Can someone please tell me how to fix the problem or if a new release of Plex is planned to address the issue?
Bump. I am sorry but I am having this problem too. I want it resolved.
I’m having the same issue trying to stream videos to three separate iPad 3’s (at different times) all running iOS 9.3.5 and Plex 4.25.
I have two Plex servers–an iMac and a My Passport Wireless Pro, both running 1.11.3.4803. Both servers have no issues streaming videos to other devices: an iPhone 6 (running iOS 11.2.5 and Plex 4.24.1), a MacBook Pro Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013 (running MacOS 10.13.3 and Plex Media Player 2.4.1.787).
Each time I attempt to stream a video from either server to any of those iPads, I get the “Uh-Oh! Something went wrong playing your media. Please try again.” message and playback never starts. Thanks for any help you can give!
Same problem on my iPad Mini 4.
I found how start my video, but I need to do it each time I look a video.
Start the video
…
Quality, and select Convert Automatically
and the video start normally
But I don’t find a permanent solution.
I found in Plex iOS…
- Profile (right top)
- Settings
- Quality
- Home streaming
- uncheck "Use recommended settings
- Select 720p HD
I’ve change the quality in the PMS, but that doesn’t work !
