@elan Thanks for your reply.
Thanks for that. This appears to be a systematic and wide-spread problem for a significant number of users (given we all use the same Freeview OTA source in the UK) and reading from the many threads (in other countries too).
Are you going to acknowledge this problem in your blog or on your website?
It seems unethical to me to continue advertising Plex Pass (with EPG) in those countries where it is known to be broken for multiple users?
Thanks for this.
Do you have timing for those 3 actions?
I ask because I (and, I believe, many others) have not had a reliable DVR for 5 weeks now and it does not appear to be getting any better despite the constant efforts of some of your staff and, as mentioned above, it has actually gotten worse in my case.
I did not conclude that things are worse for every DVR user. I did not even imply that.
What I wrote was that when I reset my Plex DVR everything was worse (for me). The word “everything” referred to my DVR, and I apologise if that was not clear enough. Please note the entire message was written in the first person singular (I/me, not we/us) except for the “we” at the end which was correctly used. Here is the quote:
To clarify what worse meant:
- “fixed” channels had been re-broken (several times over in some cases)
- Some channels that were initially OK have become not OK.
- For me personally, I have more broken channels now than I did 4 weeks ago
I am genuinely surprised to hear that it has gotten better for some, but it has little significance without quantification.
Do you have stats for this statement?
What is your data source for this statement?
Further up this thread, I asked when you are going to officially acknowledge this problem on your website/blog. This question to me still applies without this quantification.
So that was a long answer and to summarise: thanks for your direct response, but here are my outstanding questions:
- Do you have a timing for your 3 stated actions?
- Please quantify (with source) your statement re: Tivo v Gracenote? (improved /same/ worse)
- Are you going to acknowledge this problem in your blog or on your website? …OK, this maybe subject to providing an answer for question (2).
Thank you.
