UN65MU7800 Can't get rid of subtitles

I have a samsung UN65MU7800 and the version of plex displayed in the app is marked above. In samsung’s “app store” (or hub I guess) it is marked as 5.10.0 dated 4/22 of this year.

The app has the subtitles on all the time. I’ve turned it off. I’ve turned it on. I cannot get rid of the subtitles. Any advice?
