Unable to add/find folders for new libraries on Qnap NAS

Hi there,

Ive recently decided to add a Sports and Documentaries library to my Plex Server. I already have a Movies and TV folder set up and working without issue.

To do this I created a new folder for each Public/Plex/Sport etc with is next to Public/Plex/Movies and TV, the already working ones. The trouble is when I create the new library and point it at the folder /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Public/Plex/Sport its coming up with nothing found.

When I am in the library directly browser I can see the folders for the content, some of which use to be in movies which I moved into the new section, some of which is completely new content im adding in. What am I missing, to the best of my knowledge I’ve replicated the working movies and TV folders and sharing/permissions seems identical. I just can’t get it to find the content?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Server Version#: 1.20.2.3402
Player Version#: 7.6.1

First of all, it’s not recommended to put media below the public share, since then everyone can access those without authentication!

I strongly suggest you create a new share, that is restricted to you only, and put your medias there.

Then it looks like you are adding your sports folder to an existing library, and I assume it’s a library of the type “Movies”

I Bet the medias you have under your sports are not movies, but either TV-Shows or own rips, so you need to create a new Library for those types

Thanks for the reply

I have reviewed the information and moved my media to a dedicated folder.

I believe the problem is actually that Plex isn’t seeing/recognising/adding the video files that im adding because it can’t match them perhaps to its database of known content.

How do I force Plex to add certain files are not known to it?

Ok, I’ve managed to figure this issue out by changing file names in order to get them picked up.

Thanks.
