Hey all, I’m having issues with a couple of files and am hoping someone on here may have come across the same or similar issue.
So, I’m down to the nitty gritty of my files and have been unable to get Plex to pick up the following as either a TV Show or a Movie (There may be more but still nitpicking every folder for missed items).
- The Last Templar (2-part Drama) IMDB Link
- The Andromeda Strain (2-Part Drama) IMDB Link
- Peppa Pig: The Golden Boots (The kids love it) IMDB Link
If any has experiencing matching these or has any helpful advice, it’d be greatly appreciated.

The above are your two heavy hitters when it comes to Plex Agents locating a database entry. IMDB, while useful at times (to find an unknown name for an item, etc), plays no immediate/apparent role in this process.

I know as an absolute fact I can get all the above to match the first time in the examples I gave because I have already been to the database websites and located the exact names of the titles in question. Extrapolating the exact file structure and library placement is easy after that.
- Edit: Ok, so I dug a little deeper… Movies for The Andromeda Strain and The Last Templar do exist at TMDB. I’m sure by now you’ll be able to find them with ease to check the naming before placement - if you’d rather have everything in a Movie Library instead of a TV Show Library… for some reason.
Your ‘two-part’ titles are more suited for a TV Show Library because, a) they’re already in two parts and, b) setting up stacked movies is a pain in the @ss and that’s assuming it will even work on your clients. If you insist on them being ‘Movies’ use MKVToolNix or something to merge then into one file. Problem solved.

The Andromeda Strain (2008) is still causing issues and refuses to match, even though its been moved to a TV Show Folder
Please show your file and folder names.
Have you created a ‘TV Shows’ library and pointed it to the folder C:\Plex Tv Shows?
After renaming the files, you should perform the Plex Dance.
