Hello; over the past couple of weeks I’ve been having problems casting from Plexamp on my Android devices to any of my Nest devices - this includes Nest Mini speakers and a Nest Hub device I have in my office. The issue is present on my Pixel 6 Pro and my wifes Pixel 4a phones. There is no issue casting from the main Plex app, however as Plexamp is my go to audio app it’s frustrating having to drop back to the basic Plex app to cast audio, so any help you could offer would be most appreciated! Casting also works fine from Plexamp on my iPad Pro (no, I’m not switching to an iPhone to resolve this
)
Some things I’ve tried:
- Restarting the Nest devices
- Restarting my phone
- Updating android
- Putting Plexamp into Remote Connection mode for casting
- Uninstalling and reinstalling Plexamp
- Restoring settings in Plexamp to default
Symptoms:
When connecting to a device for casting, Plexamp shows an error of “Can’t connect to player” and then disconnects. On the Nest Hub, the Plex screen briefly appears and then disappears which suggests that the device is attempting to create a connection.
After this happens, cast devices can often disappear from the list of available devices until I close and reopen Plexamp.
(Note, in this screenshot I did notice that the Plex app was showing up as an available player; I did think there may be some crosstalk so I closed that app on my phone but it made no difference
)
I do have logs from the app however the upload is being refused here ![]()
Any suggestions would be most appreciated!
