Unable to create a server on a nvidia shield

Server Version#:
Player Version#:

I have my normal Plex server that is my windows PC that is always on in my basement. I am taking a trip where internet access is only DSL and we can not stream from my normal server. I want to make my Nvidia Sheild and make it a server and just bring that with us.

I have a 2TB drive connected to the Nvidia Sheild and I moved a few movies and TV shows to it with the file names of TV shows and Movies. I did mount the 2TB drive to the Shield. I reinstalled Plex to the shield and enabled media server, allowed it to access my local media. I also made sure that plex is up to date.

My problem is that I cannot access the server to change the location for the libraries. I tried accessing the server from plex.tv and the IP address with the Port 32400 but is always shows the server unavailable. I can not change the location on the folder for each library. I did take my main plex server offline with I tried to access it via web access.

My next idea was to just sync the shows and movies I wanted to take with me but I do not see that option on the Shield .

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong ?

Have you tried disabling and re-enabling the PMS through the Shield by going to System > Apps >scroll to Plex Media Server and select Disable and then Enable? See if that will make your server discoverable again.

yes i tried that but it didnt work . i ened up using my laptop as a server for the trip and the Shield as the player . worked great
