Unable to log in as user on Samsung TV

With a Plex Server on a Windows laptop, I have no issues on a second laptop or my mobile phones. On my Samsung smart TV I updated the Plex app and tried to connect to my server. The TV suggested I enter a 4-digit code into plex.tv/link, but no 4-digit code was displayed - the boxes were blank!

I tried to manually enter the IP address of the server, but that failed.

I entered the IP address of the TV into “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth” and success, I could see everything on my server. Everything!

When I try to add a User on the TV I am instructed to first add a Server. I can’t add a server - it’s already there - allegedly.

All I want to do is allow a single user to access their own Plex account on the Samung TV without them being able to see everything on the server.

I welcome hints, suggestions, or a new TV!

Using the allow IPs without auth field will give you access to the server, but it will only allow the primary account access, it won’t let you switch.

How old is the TV? Older TVs won’t provide the code as they aren’t fully supported.

That would be the answer then I guess, as the TV is pretty old now.
