Why (in 2019) are we still missing the feature to manually correct the TV Episode Match? I have this wonderful issue where two TV Shows are named the same except for one is UK and the other does not include UK. However both TV Show Agents lump them into the american match. It is really pissing me off that no matter how I name the UK episode it keeps getting match in the american one.
Whats even worse is that I search the internet for this issue and a post on this very forum from 4(!) years ago asking for this very feature.
/side note, I am really regretting paying the lifetime plex pass now. First are the issues with Apple TV getting the “Network not fast enough” and now this. It’s ■■■■■■■stupid.
Take a deep breath… you’re making it hard to help you if you immediately bark at people asking you questions about your issue.
From what you describe, there’s 2 issues:
Correctly matching the file
As proposed by @dane22 you could include the year, the show first aired in the folder / file names to improve the match quality. In case you’re running into trouble it’s always worth to double-check the naming with TheTVDb.com (e.g. House of Cards vs House of Cards (US))
Correcting a wrong match in the app
There is a way how to do what you’re asking. In order to correct a mismatch, you’ll first need to Split the series – this action is only available on the TV Show level! After splitting the show you can manually fix the match for each individual
Personally I recommend to prioritize on getting the names right.
This will save you from a lot of sorrow if you have to rebuild your server for some reason.
In order to apply the fixed file-names within Plex you might be required to do a Plex Dance:
move the corrected files outside the library folder structure (so Plex will no longer see them)
scan / update the library
empty trash
move the files back in place (make sure the names are correct)
