Latest (non-beta) version of everything.
VLC and Kodi play everything just fine.
Settings set to max quality.
Transcoding disabled.
Anyone experiencing the same?
Plex definitely can’t play everything that vlc can play natively - have you turned on transcoding and seeing what it does?
Sometimes its a simple as a transcode of audio

I thought it could handle the same formats as VLC. Maybe I was expecting too much.
My server can’t transcode 4K so I guess plex isn’t for me.

It would be useful with 4k content to turn transcoding on and send a screenshot of what transcoding is happening
So your issues is that 4k will transcode if the audio needs to transcode - and with truehd unless you are bitstreaming to a receiver - it will need to transcode
With truehd you should be able to select a dolby digital track - try doing that instead and play again
Also why are you trying to playback 4k files on a phone? there is the first issue
