Unable to play to media

As shown in the image, for some reason when I’m outside the house and Connect my tablet which is Samsung S7+ To my iPhone hotspot the app doesn’t not work any solution?

It looks like your screenshot/image got lost or you forgot to include it… so not 100% sure what you’re experiencing.

Would you mind sharing some more details, e.g. which version of the client is installed on the Samsung tablet. Is remote access working on other clients (or if the tablet isn’t connected through the hotspot)?

I’ve tired to remote play the app using my laptop that is connected to my iPhone hotspot and it runs perfectly fine (S7+ App version 10.25.0.2461)

The Android logs might contain a hint what‘s causing this.
Given the hotspot is working for another client, it seems there might be a restriction on the Android that’s blocking some of the communication. Could be blocked ports in such hotspot situations or a weird DNS issue.

Sorry but I did not understand the support article you’ve sent, can you please guide me through?

  1. Open the Plex app on your Android phone
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Navigate to Help & Support > Debugging
  4. Click on Share Debugging Data

This will offer you an option to e-mail the logs – best just send them to yourself.

I have done the steps you’ve mentioned now what should I do next?

Will I be harmed by the logs if shared?

Logs can contain some references to your account etc.; if you’re not feeling comfortable sharing those, you do some vetting first to remove that (e.g. your account’s email address)

disclaimer: as mentioned above, I’m no expert when it comes to mobile client logs.

What I can see are a multitude of communication errors.
It seems the client fails to resolve the host of Plex’ backend which is used to connect to your server (like a phone book).
You might want to double-check the Android’s network settings, e.g. does the experience change if you set the DNS server to one of Google’s (e.g. 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4) or CloudFlare (1.1.1.1)?
example → Set up 1.1.1.1 on Android (you can also set the DNS’s IP to that of Google, mentioned above)

This should at least get you a bit further.
