Unable to reclaim server on Synology NAS after password reset

Server Version#: 1.28.2.6106 for Synology

I received the password reset notification this morning and reset my password, with logging out all devices, as requested. As expected, this logged out my two servers. One of my servers is on Windows and the second is on a Synology NAS.

The online site (app.plex.tv) could not reconnect to either server, which was expected. I used the direct link on my Windows machine first to access that server instance. It had me login, and then asked me to “claim” the server again. All was happy with the Windows box at that point.

Next I went to the NAS, which is my primary server. I used the plex link from the NAS console which brought up a browser window for Plex. Was once again asked to login. However, this time I was shown the information from my Windows server and not given any way to claim the NAS instance back again.

Is there any kind of magic URL or server console command that can be used to force this server instance to be reclaimed by my account?

Well, that didn’t take as long to figure out as I feared. For some reason, if you use the link exposed from the Synology console (https://{synology-quick-id}.synology.me:32400/web) you get a different interface than if you go to your local IP address (https://192.168.1.{my-4th}:32400/web).

Once I went to the local IP address I was able to login and reclaim the server. After that, going to app.plex.tv shows both servers online again.
