OK in an effort to change my PW, I removed my local plex server on my Synology NAS. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add it back.
Plex server app, and all my media, are still on my Synology. I just removed the server from the Authorized Devices list… How do I re-add it? Nothing I do is working.
the guide on how to reset your account password linked in the e-mail / forum announcement also covered that.
If you signed out the server from your account, you need to reclaim it.
To reclaim your server, you need to access it locally – that means using the Syno’s local IP address from within the same subnet… not using the hosted web app or some directconnect URL from Synology:
browse to http://[Syno local IP]:32400/web
go to Settings > [Server Name] > General
click the Sign-In button at the center of that settings page (next to the “this server is unclaimed” message)
If you don’t see the server specific settings… review if you’re really on the same subnet as your NAS. With a few exceptions that means the 1st 3 segments of the local IP of your Syno are the same as those of the device from which you’re trying to access it (e.g 192.168.0.x).
If you’re on the same subnet and still cannot see the server settings, there might be some disconnect between the stored account information and your account – in which case you could attempt the “hard reset” procedure described in this guide:
