I recently replaced my HP Desktop with Windows 10 with a new HP Desktop with Windows 11. I cannot coknnect to the server. I have tried everything listed but still nothing works. I am not much more than a novice but have not had a problem over the years since becoming a lifetime member until I made the switch. Is there anyone out there that can help a frustrated retired man? TIA
Phil
Maybe you can share some more details… I’m not quite sure if you’re trying to connect a Plex client to an existing server or if you’re trying to connect to a newly installed / migrated server?!
Tom,
Thanks for reaching out. I’m not sure I can articulate this correctly. Lol! I have always gone to the Plex media download page to download the server. I then log into my account and when I go to the homepage I get the small yellow triangle with the “!” in it. When I click on it to reconnect, I get this message “(Desktop)is currently unavailable” Verify you have a network connection and that the server is online, or see our troubleshooting tips for further assistance. Please try again later. "I then go to the troubleshooting page and go through the process but nothing helps. When I first connected this new Windows 11 HP Desktop it worked fine. I can watch the live TV channels but not the downloaded TV Shows & Movies I have downloaded in the past. I can then go to my Roku app and find my TV Shows, Movies, & Playlist that have been recorded on my external drive and play those on my TV. However, some of the playlists have dropped some or all of the recordings and my newly recorded items are not showing up on the Plex page - I can’t find them.
Hope this gives you some ideas.
Thanks,
Phil
I go to the Plex Media Server download page and use the Windows Computer Platform drop down menu. Once it is downloaded I have tried to “open” it or “repair” it but neither works.
