Today I downloaded the 1.25.0.5220-de6e61df7 of Plex Media Server, but it will not start or launch, I am unable to set up “own media” or create a private library with my own files so I can use it on my tv, what can I do ? I have the premium Membership.
Need more info… what kind of computer are you using as a Plex server? If Plex Media Server won’t start, what is the exact symptom or error message?
I’m not quite sure where exactly you get stuck.
Have you already completed the setup? After installing the server app you need to open it locally in order to complete the setup (e.g. naming your server, linking it to your Plex account, assigning the first libraries).
To access your server “locally”, open the bundled version of Plex Web on that server.
- if you’re on the same machine, open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web (loopback to localhost)
- if you’re on a different machine, open http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web
- if you’re outside your home network (or in a different subnet inside your home network), you’ll need to use a method to establish a local connection – this can be done using a remote desktop session or a SSH tunnel

Once the server is linked to your account you can also access it through other apps and create libraries from those other apps (e.g. the hosted version of Plex Web → https://app.plex.tv/desktop – or the Plex for Mac/Windows desktop apps).
