Hi I am unable to set up the Plex sever on my Nas.
Nas model is Asustor AS6404T.
I Install the Plex sever app from the app central. When I click “Your media” it gave the link to get plex media sever. Should not it be detect my nas?
You need to access the newly installed Plex Media Server through its local IP address in order to complete the setup.
Open http://[Asustor NAS IP address]:32400/Web in your browser… this should bring up a dialog where you can name the server and associate it with your Plex account. There you can also create your first libraries.
After associating your server with the account, you’ll subsequently be able to access your server from other Plex apps or via http://app.plex.tv/desktop
This is what I did, but result is like I stated. It asked me to install the media sever. Which I reinstall alot of time through app central, which result to the same outcome.
Did you already sing into that server with a different Plex account before reinstalling the app?
I did try different account, all the account did not work out. Could this be the reason?
If your server is linked to another Plex account you cannot simply access it using a different account (imagine if you could steal a server from another user just like that…).
Do you happen to remember the other account/its credentials so you can login and „release“ the server (unclaim it under the general server settings)
Hi Tom, I can only find delete account from my current login. and I think I did deleted it since I am unable to login using the old account. So i guess I will need to wait for another 3 week so I can use the old one again. one more question is, my plex player is missing on my Nas as I wanted to try reinstall it but after uninstall I could not find it on the app Centre…
There’s been no need to delete your account. All it takes is to sign out (e.g. if your server is linked to a different account)
