Im using an app on imac which redirects to plex on the web. How do i add a server, im not having luck. The plex site keeps talking about an initial wizard. But im not at that initial setup anymore.
Is there like a nice Plex pdf user guide?
Ive deauthorized other servers but they remain active on the right side menu, wanting me to claim them. How do i get rid of them?

You need to access your newly installed server through the bundled version of Plex Web. If you’re on the same machine, open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web in your browser. If your Plex Media Server is on a different machine inside your home network, open http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web instead.
That’s where you should get to see the setup wizard where you get to name your server, link it to your account and optionally create your first libraries.

Thank you. Unfortunately that second link did not work and I am using the correct IP address. I am connected to the NAS with it through the Asustor app that displays the IP in the address bar but when I enter the IP alone in the address bar I just get an error.
Sorry I met left side. On the left side it shows a server I connected before with a green lock beside it. I deauthorized it and dont want it visible anymore. How do I make that go away? I’m using a browser.
What error message do you get when opening the PMS using your Asustor NAS‘ IP address?
When you see the old server names with a green lock… is that in the server settings or in the sidebar of your server’s main page (e.g. after clicking the More button?
Thanks for your help. I just want to start over. And even that isn’t helping. I deleted my Plex account and created a new one and that didn’t make a difference.
I bought an Asustor NAS that is connected to my wired home network.
Inside this NAS is a hard drive with movies.
I want to play these movies on my TV over ethernet.
What do I need to do watch those movies with the Plex program?

First off… deleting your account and creating a new one will do you no good if you already started creating a server.
You did not mention what error message you get when you attempt to open http://[your Asustor NAS IP address]:32400/web.
When you open that page, you should be able to see the content of that Plex Media Server, your configured libraries and the server settings. If the server had already been linked to a different Plex account, you’ll see nothing but an option to download Plex (as the new account cannot access the server while it’s linked to your old account… if that’s the case).
If you have access to the server you can create libraries for movies, shows, music etc. – you can point each library to one or more “library folders” on your NAS (e.g. movie library points to the folder containing your movie files). If your files are properly organized and named, Plex will then catalogue them and download related metadata and artwork.
You can access those libraries from other Plex apps (e.g. on your Mac, a mobile or big screen TV).
Alright. Thanks for your help. I actually found instructions to setup the Asustor on Plex. What i did was install the Plex app using the Asustor ADM onto the actual Asustor NAS instead of a computer. From there i was able to configure my movie folders on my Mac but i guess while doing that i got a triangle icon on the Asustor NAS in the Plex app on my Sony Tv not letting me access the NaS content. It worked after the Mac finished analyzing the info.
But i seem to just trade frustrations. Im not sold on Plex yet but it beats the other alternatives to viewing my NAS on my Sony TV (there are none :-D)
It basically put Russian posters on top of my fitness videos so that was annoying, ill have to figure that out somewhere.
On my tv i selected the NAS movie folder, but i changed the library to ‘folder’ options instead of “movies” because it organized it much better. But then when im trying to go to my kids shows folder it shows up blank. Then i go to a different folder and it freezes the screen not letting me go back. I go back to the main screen and start over go into the kids shows folder and then it works. This random process repeats itself. Very annoying.
Did all this setup just work beautifully for you guys? This all seems so painful. What are your setups?
