Have been unable for the past few versions of PMS to successfully stream FLAC to my iPhone. Track will play for between 0:30 to 1:30 and then freeze before returning an “Uh-Oh! Something went wrong playing your media. Please try again.” error. Issue does not occur with MP3 files on my server, so I’m led to believe the issue is isolated to transcoded music.
Attached a screen shot of the error in addition to the .zip of the PMS logs.
Hardware: iPhone 6
PMS Version: 1.5.4.3596
iOS App Version: 4.10
Let me know if any additional information is needed to help chase this down.
Just updated to PMS Version 1.5.5.3634 and the same problem occurred.
Updated logs attached.
Is this an issue others are having or one which is known and being worked on for future versions? I’ve been unable to find any culprit on my end to explain the issue, so I’m left to assume it’s PMS itself.
I get that not every Plex Pass user is going to get an individual response from the dev team, but at least acknowledging the issue or pointing out if I’m missing something stupid that can be corrected would be appreciated. At this point, it’s been nearly two months that I’ve been unable to use Plex in any meaningful way and I’m half tempted to look into alternatives just so I can get back to streaming music on the road.
Just updated to PMS Version 1.6.1.3722 with no change to the issue with transcodes freezing on iOS.
Incidentally, the update did not show up within PMS itself. I had to manually download and install it. PMS insisted everything was fully up-to-date even when manually re-checking updates using the Plex Pass update channel. I only found out that a new version was available reading a post in the forums outlining another issue…
At this point, my server is a heat generating paperweight. I’m hoping this can be resolved, because it was working wonderfully for a very long time. At this point, my optimism for any kind of clean/quick resolution is about nil though.
