Unable to Transcode/Watch Videos with .ASS Subtitles

Server Version#: 1.18.5.2260
Player Version#: 7.26.0.14578 (on Nvidia Shield)

I am able to play files with .SRT subtitle files.
I am NOT able to play files with .ASS subtitles files

The last two updates of the Plex Media Server (I have just updated top 1.18.5.2260).

I am not able to watch files that use .ASS subtitles - when you try and watch it says, it has lost connection with the server.

If I turn OFF the subtitles it transcodes instantly and if enable the .ass subtitles once I have started to watch/transcode - I will get the above error (i.e. lost connected with the server).

I have the same issue on the Plex app for Android smartphones.

I already published a review on the Play Store, but there’s only this forum to send feedback to the developers…

So I have been able to find out some additional information.

It is the new enchanced video player that is being used by Plex that stops this from working.

This can be found in the plex settings, and I turned off the enhanced player, and it reverts back to the “old” player and this works perfectly.

Hopefully, they will fix this glitch on the new enhanced player.
