Unable to update PMS on Mac OS because of "read only location error"

Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6
Plex Media server Version 1.18.8.2527
Plex player Version 1.6.3.1009-57cf57c8
I also use the web app.plex.tv

“Update Problem.
There was a problem installing the update.
Plex Media Server was started from a read-only location. Copy it to the Applications folder on your Mac and run it from there.”

My server app is not in a read-only location and is in the Applications folder already. I am a full administrator user and I’ve even updated PMS before but this time it isn’t working.

Please Help!

Figured it out, I just downloaded the latest version of PMS from the download page and swapped them out, it was pretty easy but kinda stupid considering the updater should be a straight forward process, I’m just glad I’m up to date now
