I noticed this for a while, but I’m just getting around to posting this. I have multiple collections in my Movie section. For any of the manually created collections, I’m able to update names, summary, etc. But I am unable to do that for Smart Collections. When trying to update the title or summary, I get the error “Your changes could not be saved.”. Anyone else seeing this?
I think there had been a few reports – quite some time ago.
IIRC there were different solutions. The one striking me the simplest was to edit the filters of the smart collection and save it as a new collection from that screen (option to save as a new collection is in the dropdown of the Update collection button).
That shouldn’t be required whenever you want to rename a smart collection – just a workaround for smart collections that “got stuck”.
That trick worked. Editing the filters and then saving it as a new Smart Collection works. Now the new Smart Collection allows me to make changes to the other fields. Then I just have to delete the existing one.
Thanks for the suggestion @tom80H, but I’m wondering why we have to go through these workarounds?

I have the same error when I try to update a smart collection. Changing everything but the name works, although no poster image will be generated either.
It gives me this error in the logs:
Completed: [127.0.0.1:55926] 404 PUT /library/sections/2/all?type=18&id=91993&includeExternalMedia=1&title.value=Ongoing%20Watched (12 live) GZIP 1ms 379 bytes (pipelined: 22)
Hey y’all. Actually failing to delete smart collection now, when I right click I get the ‘Something went wrong screen’. Tried optimizing, multiple selecting, same error. Logs attached. Just enabled logs to record this event.

Hey @tom80H are you able to assist?
Sorry; I can see some database activities which seem to be impacting the overall system performance. But nothing specific to a failing delete.
It looks like you successfully deleted a collection one week a go, though I couldn’t find any newer instances.
Have no problems with static collections, only smart, thanks for looking into this. I’ll just recreate the movie library. Thank goodness for sync.
