Unable to watch recorded TV while recording TV

Since the Plex DVR came out of beta, I have not been able to watch recorded stuff on the DVR while it is recording. If I do, the show it is trying to record comes out unwatchable. I have no idea why this is happening. The PC is the same as it was originally and I never used to have problems.

Edited: 10/25 realized it was recording raw .ts files and not transcoding but still the same issue.

I’m having the same issue. The thing is my processor is capable of recording 4 shows at once as long as I’m not watching another show. This happens even when I’m only recording one show and watching another. Does anyone have an idea of what I should look for in the log files? I should add that the incomplete recordings just stay in the .grab folder.

Try disabling convert video while recording under settings->LiveTVandDVR and click on the gear icon next to your HDhomerun and set it to off. You can then use the optimization feature to optimize the video to mobile or any other profile you need.

Thanks, but I already checked to make sure that was disabled. Also I don’t have hardware acceleration enabled. Additionaly the shows that we’re recording when I started watching are stuck in the activity monitor as recording. This is probably because the files are still in the .grab folder. Edit: Turns out I had hardware acceleration enabled. I’ll see if this makes any difference tomorrow.

I do not have hardware acceleration enabled. The video shows as recorded, but when you try to watch it, it is super glitchy (best way to describe it). Audio and video are unwatchable.

So I set a few recordings and I did not watch anything on Plex while the recordings were taking place. I went to watch one of the files after the recording had finished and it had the audio from the show I was recording and the video from the show that was on after it( I was not recording this show). There are quite a few errors in the log file, but I am not sure what is relevant.
