'Unclaim' server on Mac

I claimed my MacBook Pro Plex Media Server on one email account, and then permanently lost access to that email. Now I’m trying to get Media Server to recognize my Music and Photos libraries but under ‘Your Media’ in the web client it keeps prompting me to install Media server instead. I’m 90% sure it’s because this server is already claimed by anther account, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to unclaim it. I have tried to delete the app and all the app files but still can’t get a fresh install to recognize my libraries, or even acknowledge that I have media server installed and running, for that matter.

Option 1:

  1. open Pex Web
  2. make sure you’re signed in as the user who owns the server
  3. go to Settings > [Server Name] > General
  4. click Sign-out

Then switch to your actual / current user and re-claim that server.
