Server Version#: 1.32.8.7639
Player Version#: 4.116.1
I run 1.32 version in an Ubuntu 22.04 LXC container on proxmox and previous upgrades performed the same way had no issues. I have been using plex for years now using this setup.
Today I attempted to upgrade from 1.32.8.7639 to 1.41.2.9200 for currency only - there are no issues with 1.32 and there are no specific features I am looking for in 1.41. To upgrade I simply transferred downloaded .deb file to the container and installed it using ‘dpkg -i <package-name.deb>’. When I went to validate library access on a local network (I do not use remote access) I noticed that for Photos I am getting " Something went wrong An unexpected error occurred." errors. I did not notice this issue for other libraries I have, namely one that has personal videos.
I tried to use PlexDBRepair script to check and repair/replace the database to no avail. Script does not report any integrity problems. I also did not notice any errors in the logs…
Is there a step in the update process that I missed that is needed to convert the database? Any other ideas on what I can try to successfully update?
I appreciate any info you can provide.
Regards,
Adam
Please check if the issue persists after optimizing your server’s database and restarting the container.
If you’re still seeing it, server logs might show what’s going on/wrong.
No and no.
The only thing coming to mind is that there’s been quite some updates to the database structure, so the server might take some time to process those. Though, while that’s going on, you’ll usually get an XML formatted notification (server maintenance info) if you try to access the server locally. That doesn’t seem to be an issue here, as you’re already accessing the server.
