Cannot get this movie to match:
While the movie was released in 2020, it was only added to TMDb last Sunday. It’ll usually take 2-3 days for Plex to ingest new records. Though, lately I’ve seen reports that it could take a little longer (up to several weeks).
Best check watch.plex.tv to see if the move has been added to Plex’s metadata backend, and redo the matching when it’s showing up there.
Thanks. It’s been one week now. Hopefully will “ingest” soon; TMDB has a tendency to delete this entry for some reason.
You should definitely find out why, they don’t just delete things without reason so it’s likely breaking one of the rules: Welcome to the Contribution Bible — The Movie Database (TMDB)
I suppose the reason for them deleting the record (and why this latest instance for a 2020 release was only added a few days ago) is that they’re considering the video to be an episode of a 5-part show:
With their rules (see link shared by @drzoidberg33 ), this movie record will certainly be removed too.
I have requested this entry be removed from tmdb Reported Problem for Education - Discuss Education — The Movie Database (TMDB). @scarbrtj.e feel free to fight your case for keeping this within that report thread but it won’t be successful.
This aired originally as a TV series, not a standalone movie so according to tmdb and their rules its a TV show and the movie should be deleted.
Based on what tom80H posted, I created a test folder in my tv shows library named “Small Axe (2020)” and added a test file named “Small Axe (2020) - S01E05 - Education.mp4” and Plex matched it fine.
It finally matched and hasn’t been removed. But thanks for the “help” in trying to get it removed. God’s work and all that.
At the end of the day, the user should get to call a film a film. Especially things released as… films, or at least recognized as a film. For example, ‘Education’ was released as a “collection of five films.” Another example: ‘Berlin Alexanderplatz’ is called one of the top 100 films of all time by TIME Magazine. But… TMDB will not let a user call it a film. (Although, I suppose it was probably I who added to TMDB as a film, way back when, although it’s not a TMDB film anymore.)
How about TV miniseries that “identify” as film? Let’s get woke about that.
Reports can take days, weeks and months to be processed at tmdb. I can safely say this WILL eventually be deleted by their moderators, its only a matter to time. As you reported, they have done it before and they will do it again.
My motivation for the report is to get this done sooner rather than later so other users don’t incorrectly add this to plex as a movie, match it and then once its deleted ask themselves why its gone and its become unmatched.
