I am running a unraid server and I was looking at the nivida Tesla k80 to use for just transcoding would it be good for that
Probably not.
Plex uses NVDEC/NVENC when transcoding with Nvidia GPUs.
Nvidia does not list the K80 in their NVDEC/NVENC support matrices.
