Unraid Plex not detecting new episodes

Server Version#: 4.108.0
Player Version#: Not sure where I find this, but seems irrelevant to this.
Hi,

I have basically been up all night now, trying to figure out why my tv shows aren’t showing up. After like 3 hours of troubleshooting and a bit of trial and error, I now got some of them into my Plex, but only with episode 1 available.

So to break it down a bit, I got a docker instance running on my Unraid, where there is a share containing my media content.
This folder is called “Series”.
In this folder, I have categorized into different subjects, to filter available content better.
So it would be Series > TV or Series > Anime.

My issue is as follows:
I got Vinland Saga (2019) in my Series > Anime folder.
It is named “Vinland Saga (2019) [tvdb-359274]” and has season folder named “Season 01” etc.
Inside “Vinland Saga (2019) [tvdb-359274]” > “Season 01” there is a bunch of .mkv files named like this: {Series TitleYear} - S{season:00}E{episode:00} - {absolute:000} - {Episode CleanTitle} [{Preferred Words }{Quality Full}]{[MediaInfo VideoDynamicRange]}[{MediaInfo VideoBitDepth}bit]{[MediaInfo VideoCodec]}[{Mediainfo AudioCodec} { Mediainfo AudioChannels}]{MediaInfo AudioLanguages}{-Release Group}
Which ends up looking like this:
Vinland Saga (2019) - S01E11 - 011 - A Gamble [Bluray-1080p][10bit][x264][FLAC 2.0][EN+JA]-SCY.mkv
But in my Plex server, there is only 2 episodes available in Season 1 and 1 episode in Season 2.
I have attempted many different things, to make other episodes reappear.

What I have tried so far:

  • Moved folder "Vinland Saga (2019) [tvdb-359274] to a different path > done a Update/Clean Bundles/Empty Trash.
  • Renamed the files to “Vinland Saga (2019) S01E02 - Sword”
  • Remamed the files to “Vinland Saga (2019) S01E02”
  • Renamed the files to “Vinland Saga - S01E02”
  • Tried to “Fix” the match.
  • Rescan folder about 1000 times.
  • Renamed folder to “Vinland Saga (2019)”
  • Renamed folder to “Vinland Saga”
  • Rename Series name and episode into Japanese (copied from TVDB)

I am now out of ideas, as to what I can actually do, to make the rest of the episodes appear.
This is just one example. I have a few more shows.

Here they are, just from the top of my head:
TV Shows (Anime):
Dororo
The Promised Neverland
The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World
Movies:
The Lovely Bones (2009)
Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986)
Echelon Conspiracy (2009)
Compliance (2012)
Celeste and Jesse Forever (2012)
Focus (2015)
and so on.

I also have a ton, where they are available in Plex. But lately all the new stuff hasn’t shown up in Plex.

Plex DocsYour MediaNaming & Organizing TV Show Files

Which folder are you adding to the TV show library?

Using the listing above, it must be Anime.

Plex does not support any folders between the one added to the library and the main show folder. Doing so will cause problems such as those you are experiencing.

You must use curly braces, { }, for the TMDB/TVDB ID.

Try:

Note: You may need to Plex Dance the series after renaming/reorganizing. This removes incorrect matching information from the Plex Media Server database.

/Anime <-- folder added to TV show library
.../Vinland Saga (2019) {tvdb-359274} <-- TMDB/TVDB ID options, but helps.
....../Season 01 <-- "Season" in English.
........./Vinland Saga (2019) s01e01.ext <-- ext = mkv/mp4/etc

Add the episode name after sXXeYY if desired.

Thank you for your response!

It is TV show, Anime. And movies.

I did actually try to add curly brackets instead of square brackets. Same result.
Though my Vinland Saga is now acting as “not available” at all. It shows the poster etc. but unable to play.

/Anime <-- folder added to TV show library
.../Vinland Saga (2019) {tvdb-359274} <-- TMDB/TVDB ID options, but helps.
....../Season 01 <-- "Season" in English.
........./Vinland Saga (2019) s01e01.ext <-- ext = mkv/mp4/etc

And this example is exactly how my media setup currently is.

It seems like nomatter what I add recently, it will not show up. I am starting to think it might be a broken docker package or something like that.

Here is an image of how it is right now, with the full and actual path.
It still doesn’t find anything.

Even if I add the episode name of the show, it doesn’t show up.
And as you can see, all epsiodes are available.
Here is how it looks in my Plex interface.

Edit:
None of the media shown, is actually working.
I get a “Playback Error” stating “Content is unavailable”.
And the path of the file looks correct when inspecting.
